Years ago, poet Allison Whittaker and painter Pritha Srinivasan began an unusual collaboration where sometimes Srinivasan painted to Whittaker’s poems and other times, Whittaker wrote to Srinivasan’s paintings. In their debut collection, Whittaker and Srinivasan share the best of their work with a common undercurrent in human experience.
In a collection that serves as a window to the layered watercolors of the soul, each section, named after the painting that precedes it, follows through five stages of a complete life. With fine detail and an intense depth of color, both poet and artist invite others to submerge all senses while moving through the human experience as it relates to our surroundings. Together, the dynamic watermedia and lyrical verse capture the subtle duality of an experience, frozen in time, while evoking powerful emotions and prompting reflection on our own journeys through life.
Dream in Color is a collaboration of poet and artist as they share their unique perspectives of the world around them.
